Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

With the pressure of time and a punctual office manager I sit here trying to decide on what the message will be for this month’s Messenger. Should it be one that is theologically driven or maybe it should reflect some good old southern wisdom. Should it be an original experience or better yet a reprint of a poem or story from another author (copyright laws apply). I had to make a decision soon. I was totally undecided as to what to do. Little did I know God was already allowing me to experience what I should be writing about. The horrible feeling of being “undecided.”

Arthur Bryant, the English historian wrote, “There is nothing more destructive of action than a tortured undecided mind.”

Today’s culture has drawn away from the ability to make hard and fast decisions. This ailment has turned homes into arenas of frustration. Indecision in the workplace has encouraged the acceptance of mediocrity. Waitresses accumulate hours standing by table sides waiting for customers to make some kind of a decision from the smallest of menus. And of course there was a sign that was displayed in a local library which read, “National Procrastination Day Has Been Postponed.” Just an amusing way of saying “Make a Decision!”

Meet me at Matthew 16:15 ( I’ll wait). Here we see Jesus asking His disciples to make a decision. “Who do you say I am?” The Christian faith demands an answer to this question. Unfortunately most people are not aware that this question is directed at them and so they shy away, not because of some intellectual doubts or even a grave moral problem. They are just not ready to make a decision. We must remember during this Lenten season that the Christian faith is not merely a knowing of Christian history, but it’s all about making a “DECISION.” What will yours be?

Friends and foes on the web

So I was inspired to get the list out of the places i frequent on the internet because I have been meaning to and because i encountered something interesting.
First i love the site called craftster
has everything you might want in the means of crafting, sewing, creative idea and more. They are really offbeat and different. There is a lot of activity in the means of lots of people posting and plus cool advertisers for the most part.

the second is get crafty
it is a forum that does have few people posting but has some good research in the archives.

There is also the DIY net forums that are awesome too because not only do you have lots of information but you have show resources that coincide with the info.

But as everyone knows i am a blogger and i do small advertising for my blog. I join the message boards and try to get info from people. try to start conversations, build an online network and so on. (i never go to a forum and post un-useful things, i keep up conversation, bring traffic to the forum with new people and so on) So as i was trying to join forums for my gardening I have been posting some questions i had about indoor ivy, and if anyone knew of the fastest harvesting veggies and other things i needed information on i had encountered a website called gardenstew
It looked nice. looked like it had a little traffic but i was disappointed to find out that one of the rules was that you cannot post a link to your site! In this day and age there is a frown upon anyone who does not allow home pages to be advertised. This is my blog, this is me, just as unique as my email. I do not understand this. I know there is a border where it is advertising for products, services, stores and such but this is a personal site. Non advertised, non income and so on.
So for the e mail that was sent to me stating"I had to remove two of your forum posts as they contained links to your website. Please review our forum rules here (point 1.1). " I responded that i would like my account canceled and that i will be making mention of this on my site. Which is what i am doing. Heck i do not know what i would do if my other forums never let me link. i think that rule is just plain rude and i will make sure everyone knows of this rule from this website.
So as for Gardenstew You get a Green thumb down and i will make sure i do not advertise you in any way shape or form beyond this warning to those who like to link.
